Contact
A repair, a question or a quote? Write or call me directly — you always talk to me, Vladimir Alejandro Urtecho Ortiz, not a call center. English spoken.
Whether it's a two-minute question or the full maintenance of a property, every enquiry deserves a clear answer. I work in English and Spanish, Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 19:00, and messages that arrive outside those hours are answered first thing the next day. If I can't pick up because I'm in the middle of a job, I return the call as soon as I finish — that's a house rule.

Each channel has its best use. Pick whichever suits you — they all reach the same person.
Call, WhatsApp or the form?
For emergencies — an active leak, a crackling socket, a lock that won't open — the best option is to call 615 492 837 directly: if Vladimir's hands are busy on another job, he calls back as soon as he's done. For quotes and ordinary enquiries, WhatsApp is ideal because you can send photos of the problem, and one picture saves a lot of explaining. The form and email work best for describing a job calmly, attaching details and having everything on record from the first message. You can write in English or Spanish.
What happens after your message
Every message is read and answered personally by Vladimir Alejandro Urtecho Ortiz — no switchboards, no auto-replies. Messages received during working hours are normally answered the same day, and never later than 24 hours. If your enquiry is about a repair, the reply will include either a fixed quote or the two or three questions needed to give you one. If a visit is needed to assess the job, it's booked at whatever time suits you within the Monday-to-Saturday, 8:00-to-19:00 schedule.
Work area and travel
The base is in the Cruz de Humilladero district of Málaga city, which means quick arrivals anywhere in town: the Centre, La Malagueta, El Palo, Teatinos, Carretera de Cádiz or Ciudad Jardín. Along the Costa del Sol, Vladimir Urtecho regularly covers Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella; for scheduled jobs, travel is always included in the fixed quote. If you live elsewhere in the province, just ask — there's almost always a slot in the week's schedule.
A note for owners who live outside Spain: you don't need to be at the property for the work to get done. Many of Vladimir Alejandro Urtecho Ortiz's clients manage their Costa del Sol apartments from the UK, Germany or the Nordic countries. The process works remotely from start to finish: photos and quote via WhatsApp or email, access coordinated with the concierge, the agency or a trusted neighbour, and when the job is done, photos of the result and the invoice in your inbox. Distance is not a problem; poor communication is — and there's none of that here.
First time contacting?
If you arrived here looking for references, this is the essence: Vladimir Alejandro Urtecho Ortiz is a professional handyman of Nicaraguan origin based in Málaga, with years of experience in home repairs and in maintaining homes and holiday apartments. He works with fixed written quotes, a signed guarantee and direct personal service. You can read his full story on the About page and find answers to the most common questions in the FAQ.
Before you write, have this at hand
A good first message saves back-and-forth. No technical knowledge needed — with these four details, Vladimir Alejandro Urtecho Ortiz can give you a useful answer first time.
- What's happening: "the tap is dripping", "the door won't close", "I want a TV mounted". In your own words, no jargon.
- Where: the neighbourhood or town of the property, to plan travel and scheduling.
- Since when: it helps distinguish normal wear from a problem that's getting worse.
- A photo, if you can: via WhatsApp; one image solves half the diagnosis.
If your enquiry is an emergency — water escaping, a burning smell, power that won't come back — don't write: call. And in the meantime, close the main water valve or switch off the main breaker at the fuse board. Two simple actions anyone can take that prevent most of the damage.
The response commitment
Behind this form there isn't an inbox nobody checks: there's a person with a full name who lives on his reputation. That's why the commitment is clear and kept: a reply within 24 hours, normally the same day if you write during working hours.
The reply will always be one of three things: a fixed quote if the job can be assessed remotely, the specific questions still needed to give you one, or the offer of a free visit if the problem has to be seen in person. Never a "we'll call you back" that never comes.
And if the job you need isn't one Vladimir does — a major building project, a gas installation, a roof — he'll tell you that plainly too, and where possible point you towards the right trade. Losing a job hurts less than losing the trust of a Málaga neighbour who might recommend him tomorrow.
